Its hollow-ground tanto blade (with a slight recurve) is made from Bohler M390 steel and opens smoothly on a ball-bearing pivot. The blade locks securely with a frame lock, plus two optional button locks near the pivot. Engaging both buttons creates three points of contact for exceptional lock strength. The buttons also work when the knife is closed. Release them by pushing the slider on the handle spine. Despite its size, the T1000 v2 is comfortable to use. The thick titanium handle fills the hand well, and the nearly quarter-inch-thick blade is ready for hard use.
