Rutland EL9240 NPT Snap LB White - 5 Gallon
High-opacity, low-bleed white plastisol ink engineered for polyester/cotton blends, delivering excellent coverage, strong fiber mat-down, fast flashing, and a bright, smooth finish. Characteristics Rutland EL9240 NPT Snap LB White is a press-ready, low-bleed plastisol white designed as a dependable multipurpose ink for polyester/cotton blend garments. Its heavier body provides excellent opacity and bridging characteristics, making it especially effective on heavier and ribbed fabrics where controlling garment fibers and maintaining a solid white print can be challenging. EL9240 features a creamy, short-body consistency that shears easily during printing while maintaining high opacity. Its low-tack characteristics help improve production performance and reduce after-flash tack, while optical brighteners produce a clean, bright white appearance. The ink can be used as either a stand-alone white or an underbase depending on the artwork and application. Snap White is particularly versatile across different screen meshes. Its recommended 86–230 threads/in. (34–90 threads/cm) mesh range allows the ink to handle everything from heavier ink deposits to finer details and simulated halftones. For maximum opacity and bleed resistance, EL9240 can be printed directly onto polyester/cotton blends. Because dye stability varies considerably between garments, production testing is recommended before a full run, particularly when working with fabrics susceptible to dye migration. On automatic presses, adjust squeegee pressure so the image clears cleanly without applying excessive pressure. Target proper screen clearance on the second stroke rather than using unnecessarily high pressure on the first stroke. Use approximately 86–230 threads per inch depending on the required ink deposit, opacity, and image detail. Use a 70–80 durometer sharp squeegee as a recommended starting point. Maintain a squeegee angle of approximately 45° during printing. For applications requiring increased opacity and bleed resistance, a print-flash-print technique can be effective. Flash only long enough to gel the ink surface before applying subsequent colors or an additional white layer. The approximate gel point is 150°F (67°C). Avoid excessive heat when printing polyester-containing garments because overheating can increase dye migration. Fully cure the complete ink deposit to approximately 320°F (160°C). Always verify cure, bleed resistance, and finished print performance under actual production conditions. Best For ▼ Polyester/cotton blend garments Dark blended garments Heavyweight apparel Ribbed garments and fabrics Fleece and sweatshirts Garments requiring strong fiber mat-down High-opacity stand-alone white graphics White underbase printing Print-flash-print applications Applications requiring good bleed resistance Manual textile screen printing Automatic textile screen printing High-volume production environments Important Printing Information ▼ Rutland EL9240 NPT Snap LB White is primarily recommended for polyester/cotton blends. Low-bleed chemistry may not be appropriate for certain 100% cotton garments because ghosting can occur on some cotton fabrics. Garment dyes and fabric constructions vary considerably. Always test the specific garment before beginning production, particularly when printing polyester-containing fabrics with aggressive or unstable dyes. For severe dye-migration situations, a dedicated dye-blocking barrier may be necessary rather than relying solely on the low-bleed white ink. Avoid excessive flash and dryer temperatures when printing polyester-containing garments. Excessive heat can promote dye migration and reduce the effectiveness of low-bleed technology. The complete ink deposit should reach approximately 320°F (160°C) for proper fusion. Verify actual cure conditions under production conditions rather than relying solely on the dryer's temperature setting. Always test the complete ink and garment combination for opacity, bleed resistance, adhesion, cure, wash durability, and dye migration before beginning a full production run.
