Dried Ancho Chilli Peppers 150g

Dried ancho chillies are the fully ripened, sun-dried version of fresh poblano peppers, and one of the most important chillies in Mexican cooking. “Ancho” means wide in Spanish, which makes sense once you see their broad, wrinkled shape and deep reddish-brown colour. Mild in heat at around 500 to 2,000 SHU, ancho chillies are all about flavour rather than fire. Expect a rich, sweet and fruity profile with notes of raisin, prune, plum, coffee and subtle chocolate.
