A notebook made for fountain pens, using an ultra-thin Japanese paper that is smooth to write on and resists bleeding and show-through 384 pages that still open completely flat, so you can write right up to the center Finished one by one by hand by a Tokyo bookbinding workshop with over 75 years of experience This notebook was first created at the request of a stationery shop in California that wanted a notebook made from this delicate paper but could not find anyone at home skilled enough to bind it. The Tokyo workshop took on the challenge, and this version has been adapted for everyday use. The paper is very thin and light. Even with 384 pages, the notebook is only about 15mm thick. Both black and colored inks show beautifully. The 7mm grid is slightly larger than usual, which makes it easy to write detailed characters and suits broad fountain pen nibs too. The blue-grey grid lines are printed as light dotted lines, so they guide your writing without distracting. The pages are thread-sewn and finished with a special lay-flat binding technique that combines machine work and handwork. Each notebook is finished by hand by skilled craftspeople. The cover is made of durable bookbinding cloth, often used for academic books, so the notebook stays in good condition even after long use. The gold logo on the cover is inspired by traditional Japanese family crests.
