KOOMILYA MATARO ROSÉ 2026

The successor to Wine Companion's 2027 Rosé of the Year. A single block Mataro from some of the oldest 19th century vines on the Koomilya property. Inspired by the wines of Bandol and the Marche, this is a dry Rosé of rare complexity made in tiny quantities. "Rosé has traditionally been undervalued in Australia, often made from fruit that wasn't good enough for red wine. We take the opposite approach: our Rosé wines are made from fruit across the Fleurieu that could just as easily go into a $50 plus bottle of red. It's a simple wine to make, in the way the simplest dishes rely most on the quality of their ingredients — good quality grapes make good quality wine." - Steve
