2024 Benjamin Leroux Savigny-lès-Beaune

The backbone of this cuvée is the outstanding Aux Fourneaux lieu-dit in the north of the village, where Leroux works with a lot of Pinot Fin — a high-quality, low-yielding Pinot Noir cultivar that gives low yields and real concentration. In recent vintages, the blend has also included Saucours, a site on the western extension of the slope near Les Hauts Jarrons, which replaced the now-sold Connardises parcel starting with the 2023 vintage. This is always such a winner for the money in the range, and 2024 is no exception. Loads of bright fruit but also some real depth, structure and age-worthiness.
