Cartier Panthère “Moyen Modèle” Ref. 4016/WSPN0007 in Steel, circa 2023 – Full Set

We are pleased to present this Cartier Panthère known as the “Moyen Modèle”, reference 4016/WSPN0007, in steel, produced circa 2023 and preserved in excellent condition. In 1983, under the impetus of Alain-Dominique Perrin, Cartier gave the Santos a feminine counterpart: the same square case with screwed bezel, but a bracelet with links so supple that it moulds to the wrist like the gait of the feline – the house’s emblem since 1914, and the nickname of Jeanne Toussaint. More jewel than watch, the Panthère became one of the icons of the 1980s, on the wrists of Keith Richards and Madonna alike, before leaving the catalogue in 2004. Cartier relaunched it in 2017, faithful to the original design and still quartz-powered. The medium model, measuring 27 × 37 mm and 6 mm thick, is in our view the most fitting size: present on the wrist without ever being imposing. It displays the great stylistic signatures of Cartier watches – a silvered dial with railway minute track and painted black Roman numerals, a secret “Cartier” signature tucked into the X, blued steel sword-shaped hands, a crown set with a blue spinel cabochon – and adds the modern comfort of a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a reliable, precise quartz movement that requires no maintenance. The battery has been replaced in our workshop. The watch is presented on its original Cartier Panthère steel bracelet, with a hidden double folding clasp, and comes with its original Cartier box, its international warranty card and our Steel Warranty Card.
