Early Victorian Painted Veneer Box with Mirror
I eagerly collect small, early Victorian boxes for patches or candy with mirrors underneath the lid. Usually they are made of paper or glass- I’ve never found one with wood veneer on the outside before! The teal colored paper inside is also unusual. Hand colored decorations on the lid with a charming little parrot and a bowl of fruit. Condition is excellent- only very minor wear to the outside. The remnants of the ribbon inside would have attached to the lid.
