70% Hawaii Blend (March 2026)

This month's Ku'ia Club chocolate is a blend of cacao from three award winning cacao farms in Hawaii. Hawaiian cacao has earned an international reputation for excellence as evidenced by multiple awards in the premier competition for cacao growers, the Cacao of Excellence competition. Maui Ku‘ia Estate Chocolate has been awarded the gold award of excellence in 2021 and 2023 in this competition and was excluded from entering again in 2025 and perhaps forever because we have won it twice and our samples were not accepted for 2025. The winners of the 2025 competition were recently announced and two Hawaiian farms that we have featured in the past year won silver awards. Those two Hawaii origins are Honoli‘i Orchards on the Big Island and Ben Fields farm in Kahaluu Oahu. We made chocolate from both in the past year, and thought it would be interesting to combine the two and also add our own Maui Ku'ia Estate chocolate to the mix.
