J.Press Take Ivy Deluxe Slipcased Limited Edition Book
J. Press has collaborated with powerHouse Books to launch a Special 60th Anniversary Edition of Take Ivy. This limited edition celebrates the book's reputation as the "Ivy style Bible" and significantly influenced the J. Press Spring/Summer 2026 runway collection. Originally published in Japan in 1965, Take Ivy was created by four Japanese fashion enthusiasts (including photographer Teruyoshi Hayashida) who documented the "American Traditional" style on Ivy League campuses. The book includes a collection of candid photographs of students at all eight Ivy League schools in their daily lives—chilling on quads, rowing, and studying. The book's impact transformed Ivy League style into a global fashion trend known as "Ametora" in Japan and remains a vital reference for modern menswear designers. This edition is exclusive to J. Press and features several impressive elements: Deluxe Slipcase: The book comes in a custom-printed protective slipcase. New Foreword: It has a new foreword written by Jack Carlson, the President and Creative Director of J. Press. Official Translation: This is the official English translation that was initially revived by powerHouse Books in 2010.
