At the 1969 NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, John “The Zookeeper” Mulligan delivered one of the sport’s most memorable performances with a 6.43-second qualifying run, eclipsing Jerry Ruth’s existing 6.68 national record. This shirt also stands as a tribute to Mulligan’s toughness and legacy. Mulligan later passed away from complications related to burns suffered during that same Indy weekend.
