Wax to Bejeweled Workshop

Create your own piece of jewelry with a sparkling stone. Have you always wanted to make a unique piece of jewelry that incorporates a gemstone? In this intimate and inspiring 3.5-hour workshop, you’ll work in my studio on your own design in wax, which will later be cast in silver. This workshop is a great way to get introduced to working with wax and incorporating stones into your design. We mainly work with the Build-Up technique, where you construct your jewelry layer by layer in wax. It’s an intuitive and playful way of working that helps you get out of your head and into your hands. You’ll work in a small group of up to 3 participants, allowing plenty of room for personal guidance and attention to your process. What will we do? You’ll start shaping your own piece of jewelry in wax. This could be a ring, pendant, or earring, completely in your own style. During the design process, you’ll use the Build-Up technique and decide how you want to incorporate your stone into the wax. Will you choose a prong setting, a more organic look, or a classic ring with a smooth bezel setting? I’ll guide you step by step, helping you translate your idea into a tangible design. Important to know The stones will be cast in place along with the piece. It’s important to know that this is a process we don’t have full control over. Casting stones in place almost always goes well, but there is a small risk that the stone may break. This can happen. Neither the caster nor I can be held responsible for this, and no refunds or credits can be requested in such cases. This workshop is truly meant as an “out of your head and into your hands” experience. We won’t go into theory, casting processes, or where to source materials. After the workshop Afterward, your design can be cast in recycled silver and professionally finished into a beautifully polished piece of jewelry. Casting & finishing: €55 per piece Silver price: €5.50 per gram (1g of wax = approx. 11g of silver; a ring weighs on average between 6 and 18 grams) Your jewelry will be ready for pickup in approximately 3 weeks.
