Silver handmade hammered ring with Ethiopian opal and gold
This ring takes things in a cleaner, more contemporary direction. A heavy hammered silver band with an Ethiopian opal sitting proudly on top, flanked by two solid gold granules. The balance of the glowing opal against the polished gold gives the ring a very modern feel — simple lines, strong shapes and no unnecessary fuss. I’ve kept the design deliberately clean to let the materials speak for themselves. A quiet statement piece for someone who likes contemporary jewellery with a handmade edge. This ring is currently a size R but can be made to order in any size. This piece is part of my 52 Ring Project, a personal challenge inspired by rediscovering a long-forgotten collection of gemstones. After moving to Dorset, I unpacked two boxes of stones that had remained untouched for several years — some of which I have owned for over fifteen years. After carefully sorting and organising them by type, size and colour, I decided to bring them back into use by creating one ring each week over the course of a year. Each ring in the collection is made using a different gemstone, giving every piece its own character and story.
