A pair of model JH501 with cane seat and back, designed by Hans J. Wegner for Johannes Hansen. This iconic Danish modern design is best known as "The Chair.” The more common version with leather seating is famously seen as the chair JFK sat in during his presidential debate. Elegant curvilinear frame supports a finely woven cane seat. Cane wrapped back is a wonderful contrasting detail. In good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Marked on the underside with the manufacturer's stamp, 1950s. Caning has been redone.
