Keum Boo Statement necklace with Emeralds

Used Keum Boo Technique to make this statement necklace/ Used also faceted emerald roundels to adorn the focal piece. I oxidized the focal piece to give more dramatic effect. 24 karat pure gold leaf is fused by using high heat and pressure onto fine silver sheet that I saw into hammered one of a kind piece. In Korean it means "attached gold". First the silver is depleted into fine silver by using enough heat. Then 24 karat gold foil is applied with heat and pressure. This technique allows the fine silver permanently bond with pure gold.
