Austrian Leutnant portrait miniature oil on board, circa 1840. Half-length portrait of Leutnant wearing white infantry tunic with high collar and order ribbon cross at breast. With Ausfuhrstempel Wien and Anton Maurer, Zwettlhof (Stephansplatz 6/Wollzeile 4) framer label verso, confirming Vienna 1st district provenance. Sight: 3 ¾ by 5 ½ inches; frame: 11 by 12 ¾ inches. Stable craquelure, spots of discoloration, and mellowed varnish appropriate to age. Frame with losses, wear, and small repairs.
