"Welcome Dawn" Painting by Rachel Brownlee

Fifth-generation rancher Rachel Brownlee creates photorealistic charcoal drawings inspired by life on her family’s Nebraska cattle ranch. After pursuing a career in software engineering, Brownlee returned home intending to focus on ranching and her software company before her self-taught artistic talent led her toward fine art. Encouraged by a local librarian to exhibit her work, Brownlee debuted at the Mountain Oyster Club in 2021, earning the organization’s Best of Show Award. Since then, she has received major honors including the Cowgirl Up Best of Show Award, the Museum of Western Art Roundup and Exhibition Best of Show Award, and the Mountain Oyster Club Purchase Award. In 2024, she was named one of Southwest Art Magazine’s “21 Artists under 31.” Brownlee is represented by Settlers West Galleries, Broadmoor Galleries, and InSight Gallery.
