The Incredible Zoltar Birthday card, complete with a lovely fortune slip full of best birthday wishes. Laura Skilbeck is a Manchester based artist with a love of hand-drawn and painted illustration in a world of ever more computerised images. She loves how greetings cards are little affordable art works that go out into the world, connecting people and spreading cheer. Her joyful designs have won awards, sold in big stores including Paperchase and Selfridges, prestigious galleries such as The Whitechapel and The Tate, and unique independent shops. Alongside her paintings and illustrations Laura has run community art workshops, home-schooled her children, spent ten years writing songs and playing guitar with her DIY girl band, and helped to create a free art school in Salford and establish Saddleworth Art Trail. Laura’s cards are 100% recycled and packaged in a biodegradable cello wallet.
