This softly coloured bowl features a more complex Kintsugi repair, combining fine fracture lines with a replaced section along the rim. A missing piece has been carefully restored using a yobitsugi method, where a fragment from another ceramic piece is incorporated and joined with lacquer, then finished with tin powder. The repair traces the original breaks across the surface, forming a network of soft, flowing lines, while the inserted fragment adds a quiet point of contrast — a meeting of two pieces brought together into a new whole. Rather than a subtle touch, this repair becomes a defining feature of the bowl. It carries a stronger presence while still sitting gently against the layered pastel glaze of pink, cream and pale blue. Kintsugi and yobitsugi are time-intensive processes that require patience, skill and careful judgement. Each repair is carried out by hand to achieve both strength and balance. Our pricing reflects the time, materials and craftsmanship involved, and supports the continuation of these practices. Each piece is priced individually, as no two repairs are ever the same. The materials used, including tin powder, are food safe. To preserve the repaired areas, we recommend gentle hand washing and avoiding dishwashers or prolonged soaking.
