Region: La Poblaseña, Sotará, Cauca Elevation: 2050 masl About: Founded in 2018, Juan Martín Farm was established by brothers Julián and Jairo Ruiz as an experimental coffee project under Banexport, focused on research, cultivation, and post-harvest development. Created as a space to refine production techniques and share knowledge with producers across Colombia, the farm reflects a broader commitment to quality, sustainability, and long-term investment in Colombian coffee-growing communities. The project takes its name from Juan Martín, Julián’s son, whose birth coincided with the beginning of the farm. Alongside its research focus, Juan Martín has also invested heavily in environmental and social initiatives, including a large-scale solar installation at Banexport’s Popayán facilities and an employment model centred on stable working conditions, fair wages, and ongoing training opportunities for staff. This lot features Striped Red Bourbon, a rare natural mutation of Red Bourbon first identified in Huila in 2015. The variety is recognised for its distinctive red cherries marked with pale striping, alongside its structured and expressive cup profile.
