Zen Cookie Jar (Storage Jar)

This is a pottery piece created by Elizabeth Schapansky. A small ceramic jar. It has a rounded, slightly tapering body and a muted gray-brown tan glaze that gives it an earthy, handmade feel. Across the front of the jar, a bold black brushstroke design curves upward in a loose, calligraphic flourish, adding a striking contrast to the otherwise subdued surface. The lid lies tipped over on its side in front of and to the right of the jar, revealing the top opening’s rim. The lid matches the jar in color and texture, with a small ring-style handle that adds a simple, functional detail. Overall, the piece feels minimal and serene, almost like a still life study of form, texture, and quiet craftsmanship. The work is made with high fire clay and multiple different glazes. This work was created 2025. The overall dimensions of the pottery are 9.5" Tall. This piece is functional and food safe.
