Clés des Ducs Armagnac XO 700ml | Bas-Armagnac
Clés des Ducs Armagnac XO is a rich, complex, and beautifully aromatic Bas-Armagnac distilled in Panjas, in the heart of the Gers — aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 10 years for a very rich and complex nose of wooded and honeyed notes, with a long, aromatic palate that finishes on aromas of candied fruit. Crafted from UGNI Blanc grapes grown on the delicate sablo-limoneux soils of Bas-Armagnac, with new oak limited to just three to four months to preserve the fruity, elegant character of the eau-de-vie. The philosophy of Clés des Ducs in every bottle: fruit first, oak second. Tasting Notes Appearance Deep, warm amber — the rich, inviting colour of a Bas-Armagnac aged for a minimum of 10 years in oak barrels, with the depth and luminosity that patient maturation in the cellars of Panjas delivers. Aroma Very rich and complex — wooded and honeyed notes lead the nose, with the aromatic depth and elegance that a minimum of 10 years in oak and the delicate, fruity character of Bas-Armagnac’s sablo-limoneux soils deliver. Candied fruit notes add sweetness and complexity throughout. Palate Very aromatic and with a beautiful length in the mouth — the rich, complex palate of a Bas-Armagnac crafted with minimal new oak to preserve the fruity character of the eau-de-vie, finishing on aromas of candied fruit that linger long and satisfyingly. Pairs With A natural companion for dark chocolate, dried fruits, foie gras, aged hard cheeses, and the finest French table — Clés des Ducs Armagnac XO is equally at home served neat at room temperature, gently warmed in the hand, or as the foundation of a considered digestif. The fruit first, always.
