Vintage Framed Ink Etching, Palazzo di Parte Guelfa

A framed ink etching of the Palazzo di Parte Guelfa, Florence, signed G. Corsini in the lower right corner and titled in the artist's hand along the bottom. The drawing is precise and quietly atmospheric, the courtyard rendered in fine crosshatched ink with the kind of patience that makes you look at it longer than you expect to. The etching is presented in its original frame, a slim gilt border with a sage green inner edge that has worn beautifully at the corners. The mat has aged to a warm cream. The frame has a brass hanging triangle on the verso, ready to hang. I found this one in Sardinia and couldn't leave without it. It has that quality of feeling like it has always belonged somewhere specific, and it will again. There is minor toning to the mat consistent with age. The etching itself is clean and unfaded.
