Peacock Pheasant Feather Brooch
The feathers of the Peacock pheasant (Polyplectron spp.) are covered in eye-like spots called acelli, which relfect irridescent blues and greens. These shimmering patterns, especially on the tail, are used in ground-level courtship displays. Native to Southeast Asian forests, some species, like P. bicalcaratum, have 22-24 ocelli - a visual marvel adapted to filered jungle light.
