Plinth for Safe Installation in a Raised Wardrobe Base
Marking and Preparation: The process will begin by marking out the precise footprint of the safe on the interior base of the grey wardrobe, ensuring proper alignment for the intended location. Cutting the Aperture: Using an electrical jigsaw, a section of the wardrobe’s base panel will be carefully cut out along the marked lines to create an opening. Refining the Cavity: Once the panel section is removed, the opening will be cleared of any debris, and the underlying subfloor will be prepared to ensure a stable, level foundation. Creating a Solid Base: An MDF block will be custom-fitted into the cutout to bridge the gap, creating a seamless, reinforced surface flush with the wardrobe’s base. This MDF block will be securely bonded directly to the concrete subfloor using a high-strength, construction-grade adhesive, which will provide an virtually immoveable anchor. Final Positioning and Securing: The safe will be placed securely on top of the newly installed MDF platform and adjusted to a forward position within the wardrobe for optimal access. To complete the installation, the safe will be securely bolted directly through the base to the bonded MDF block, providing an insurance-approved method that meets the requirement for a physical anchor to the building’s fabric.
