Suspend from branches, hang on fences, benches, other suitable hide spots to move odour above nose level and add variety and challenge to your searches. Training tip: When introducing higher hides, take it slowly. Reward as close to the odour as you can, and raise the height of your scent vessel very gradually so your dog can build confidence in the new hide placement. Logs, benches and low walls can be useful for encouraging your dog to get closer to the odour, as long as your dog is comfortable climbing and it is safe for them to do so.
