Rosso Friuli Colli Orientali Ros di Buri, Meroi

A deep, structured and beautifully refined red that shows the elegance and longevity of Friuli’s Colli Orientali. The nose is complex and evolving, offering ripe red and dark cherry fruit, wild berries and dried herbs, layered with notes of spice, tobacco, cocoa and a gentle earthy nuance from long barrel ageing. On the palate it is polished and textural, with fine, integrated tannins, balanced acidity and a savoury depth that builds through the mid-palate. Long, harmonious and quietly powerful, this is a serious, age-worthy red with real character. From some of the best vineyards in Buttrio, the grapes are estate-grown and hand-harvested. Fermentation takes place using selected yeasts in barrique, followed by 36 months of maturation in barrel, including 24 months on the lees to enhance texture and complexity. The wine is then refined in bottle for a further eight months before release. A natural match for slow-cooked meats, game, braised beef, mushroom-based dishes or aged hard cheeses.
