The KOPF Steel is not merely unconventional; it is a fully realised horological object built around a true skull-shaped case that feels distinct from the usual independent-watch formula. At 34 mm across the case, 37 mm including the eyes, and 53 mm in overall height, it wears more like a compact sculpture than a traditional round watch. The 24 mm strap width gives it a strong stance on the wrist, while the articulated “chewing” jaw is not just theatrical; it also helps the watch sit more comfortably and adds an interactive mechanical character. Under the surface, the watch is powered by a Swiss ETA 2892-A2 automatic base movement fitted with KOPF’s in-house “Big-Eyes” module, bringing the total to 29 jewels and a 40-hour power reserve. The separate sapphire crystals for the eyes reinforce the concept well, with the hours and minutes displayed independently in a format that is both playful and surprisingly readable. Material execution is equally important here. Hammering, graining, brushing, PVD, anodising, and satin/buff finishing combinations give the KOPF Steel a deliberately raw, underground personality. Tritium luminous markers for the indices and hand pointers add practical low-light visibility, while customisable colours for the hands and tritium details allow a degree of individuality. Each watch is also personalised with the owner’s initials and a short crypto message to the future, strengthening the sense that this is as much a personal artefact as a watch. Limited to 100 pieces, the KOPF Steel is a technically serious and artistically rebellious independent timepiece. Add to WishlistRemove from Wishlist Add to Wishlist
