Celandine Herb Powder

The root is thick and fleshy. The stem, which is slender, round, and slightly hairy, grows from 1 to 3 feet high and is much branched; at the points where the branches are given off, it is swollen and jointed and breaks very easily. When the plant is cut or wounded a noticeable, unpleasant yellow sap flows out, and is of offensive odor, nauseous, bitter tasting with a biting sensation when put to the mouth. The juice stains the hands strongly. The leaves are yellowish-green, much paler, greyish below, and very thin in texture drooping immediately on gathering. They are graceful in form and slightly hairy, 2 to 10 inches long, 1 to 3 inches wide, deeply divided as far as the central rib, to form usually two pairs of leaflets those are placed opposite to one another with a large terminal leaflet. The margins of the leaflets are cut into by rounded teeth. The flowers drop very quickly when picked. They are arranged at the ends of the stems in loose umbels. They blossom throughout the summer, being succeeded by narrow, long pods, containing blackish seeds. How to use: Powdered Herb: There are different ways to use powdered herb. Food Preparation: You can add powdered herb to any super food herbal smoothie, sauces, spreads and even cookies. Also for children, you can mix powdered herb with honey or glycerin to make paste. The thicker the paste, the more potent and herbal in taste. The sweet taste of honey and glycerin will help medicine go down. This method is also known as "Electuaries". Capsules: Encapsulating your own powdered herb at home, gives you assurance that the contents of the capsules are pure herb and no filler or any other products. These capsules can be taken with liquid. Poultice: Poultice can be made with an herbal powder and liquid (mostly water) to form a paste which is then applied to the skin. This method is very helpful for skin conditions. Herbal shot: Powdered herb can be mixed with water, fruit juice or other liquid to make herbal shot.
