Mainland
Mainland is the value entry into a real wool carpet, and the way it gets there is interesting. It is made almost entirely from undyed Himalayan wool — 99% left in its natural colour, with 1% dyed wool blended through — so the tone comes from the fleece itself rather than from a dye bath. That is why each colour has visible depth and slight variation in it instead of reading as one flat shade. A 30oz single-ply yarn in a practical 6mm loop. This is a lighter, lower carpet than the rest of our wool range, and it is priced accordingly — a sensible choice for bedrooms, guest rooms, a rental or a whole-house job where the budget has to stretch. The backing is synthetic jute and the roll is 4 metres wide. Minimal processing is the point of it: less dyeing, less water, less energy, and a fibre that is renewable and biodegradable at the end of its life. You still get everything wool does — warmth in winter, sound absorption, dust trapped in the pile rather than circulating, and natural flame and stain resistance. Ten colours: Cashew, Cane, Bran, Hazen, Walnut, Barley, Spelt, Ginkgo, Millet and Kola. Backed by a 10 year residential wear warranty, a 10 year insect warranty and a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defect.
