Painted Gourd Rattle -- Oaxaca, Mx.

These maracas or baby rattles are made from hand-painted gourds in the region of Oaxaca and Guerrero states, in Southern Mexico. Each gourd is left to dry in the sun, and its own seeds produce the rattling sound! Rattles are decorated with colorful flowers in beautiful, unique designs. Kids love the bright colors and the fun sound!
