This silk scarf is hand painted by Louise Loughman in Swallow Studios in County Monaghan Size 180 x 45 cm This scarf has a Celitc design that was inspired by the stone carvings found at Newgrange one of the oldest megalithic sights in the world. The Celtic design is done in the art of batik this is when you use hot wax to create shapes and images on fabric. The wax acts as a resist and blocks dyes going into certain areas the wax is removed at the end and washed to leave a silky smooth and soft finish.
