Refleksjon | RX 9070 XT 16GB + Ryzen 7 7700X3D + 32GB | Ready-to-Go Gaming PC | PC36
๐ช Refleksjon Striking aesthetic; overwhelming performance Almost every gaming PC on sale right now is a fishtank or a mesh box. Refleksjon is neither. The front is an infinity mirror set into tempered glass, with the two intake fans cut straight through it - this provides all the benefits of an airflow front panel whilst maintaining a striking infinity mirror effect. Switched off it's a dark mirror. Switched on it dazzles and delights. Behind it sits a Ryzen 7 7700X3D and a Radeon RX 9070 XT with 16GB, under a 360mm liquid cooler with a screen in the pump cap. That's a 1440p and 4K machine with the cache-heavy processor simulation and strategy players actually want, in a case small enough to sit on a desk rather than beside one. It's also where we tried something we'd been meaning to try. Memory prices have gone through the roof this year, and the way round it here was laptop memory: SODIMM modules, mounted in adapters, running in a full desktop board. It sounds like a bodge and it isn't one. We've tuned it by hand, game tested it, and put it through a 24 hour memory stress test that it passed with zero errors. There's an honest note below explaining exactly what it does and doesn't cost you, and it's the reason a machine with this specification carries this excellent price. This PC is already built and ready to ship. The catch? Just one in stock, and it will not be restocked. Our already-built PCs take advantage of supplier deals, which we pass onto you, but aren't repeatable ad infinitum ๐งฌ Built to last, designed to evolve This system is built on AMD's latest AM5 platform, which offers one of the best upgrade paths available today. That means you can start with a great processor now and still have room to move up the stack later, while keeping the same motherboard, case, power supply and most of your core components. On this build the processor is already an X3D part, so what the upgrade path really buys you is the freedom to change the graphics card in a few years without touching anything else, or to await and install the next generation of AMD "Zen 6" CPUs as a slot-in upgrade. Two M.2 slots stay free as well ๐ Specifications ๐ง CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D Click or tap for deeper spec info 8 cores, 16 threads of Zen 4, 4.0GHz base and 4.5GHz boost, with 96MB of 3D V-Cache taking the total to 104MB. 120W TDP, and it will draw beyond that while boosting The cache is the whole point. Games are unusually sensitive to memory latency, and a very large L3 means the processor spends less time waiting on memory and more time producing frames. It's why an 8-core X3D chip outruns 16-core parts in games while losing to them in rendering It matters more than usual here, for a reason that's worth knowing. That cache is also what makes this machine's memory arrangement work as well as it does. A processor with 96MB of L3 goes out to system memory far less often than one without, so it's the least sensitive kind of chip you could put behind the memory fitted here. There's a full note about that below Against the 7800X3D, the gap is clocks alone: same 8 cores, same 96MB, same socket, a little under 5% in games on average. It also runs cooler and draws less, which in a case this size is worth having Socket AM5, so a faster processor drops in later without replacing anything else โ๏ธ CPU cooler: Cryorig CRYO360, 360mm AIO liquid cooler with LCD screen Click or tap for deeper spec info A 397 ร 120 ร 27mm radiator carrying three 120mm ARGB fans running 900 to 2000rpm, mounted in the top of the case Rated to 285W against a processor that runs to 120W. That surplus is the point. A cooler working well inside its capability is what makes a machine quiet, because the fans sit low in their range instead of ramping to hold a temperature A 2.8 inch, 720 ร 720 screen in the pump cap, showing live processor and graphics readouts, or whatever you'd rather put there. It's customisable through Cryorig's own software, including your own images The pump runs 800 to 2500rpm under PWM control and is set by hand before dispatch rather than left on a default curve. Lit ring around the screen, and corner diffusers on the fans Three year warranty from Cryorig, alongside our own three years on the machine ๐ฒ Motherboard: ASRock B850M Pro-A WiFi (micro-ATX) Click or tap for deeper spec info AMD B850 on a 244 ร 244mm micro-ATX board, socket AM5, with an 8+2+1 Dr.MOS power design on a 6-layer PCB PCIe 5.0 x16 to the graphics card. The card fitted doesn't need it today, but it means the slot isn't what dates this machine Three M.2 slots and only one is used. The two free slots are a full PCIe 5.0 x4 and a PCIe 4.0 x4, so a faster drive later runs at full speed rather than being held back. Four SATA ports as well Four DDR5 slots supporting up to 256GB, with both EXPO and XMP profiles supported. There's a note below about how memory is arranged on this particular machine Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 built in with the aerial supplied, plus 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet Rear I/O gives HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, a 10Gbps USB-C, a 10Gbps USB-A, two 5Gbps USB-A and four USB 2.0, with BIOS Flashback for updating the board with no processor fitted PC36 only uses motherboards chosen for stability and longevity. See our Trusted brands page ๐ Memory / RAM: 32GB (2ร16GB) DDR5-5600 CL34 (hand-tuned) Crucial SODIMM, on desktop adapters Click or tap for deeper spec info Two 16GB Crucial DDR5-5600 SODIMM modules, the kind that normally go in a laptop, standing in passive adapters in the board's own DDR5 slots. Running in dual channel at 5600, with the primary timings tuned by hand from the stock CL46 down to CL34 and the secondary timings tightened to match This is the deliberate part of the build, not an accident. Desktop DDR5 pricing has roughly trebled this year. Laptop memory did not move the same way, and the modules themselves are ordinary warrantied Crucial parts. Putting them in a desktop is the entire reason this machine costs what it does rather than a few hundred pounds more Validated rather than assumed. Memory like this has to be configured by hand, so it is. Once tuned, it was game tested and then run through 24 hours of TestMem5 on the Absolut configuration, one of the most demanding memory stress tests there is. It finished with zero errors What it costs you, plainly: even tuned to CL34, 5600 is a step below the 6000 CL30 we'd normally fit. The tuning closes much of the gap in latency, and on a chip with 96MB of L3 cache most of what remains goes unnoticed, which is exactly why this arrangement is in an X3D machine and not something else. There's a fuller note in the transparency section, including what it means for upgrading later. Please read it Running at 1.25V for the tuned timings, up from the stock 1.1V. That is a modest step, well within what DDR5 modules handle comfortably, and it is the voltage the 24 hour test was passed at. Non-ECC modules with the on-die ECC that's standard to every DDR5 part ๐พ Storage: 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD (QLC), Biwin NV7200 Click or tap for deeper spec info 7,200MB/s read and 6,200MB/s write, rated for 400TB of writes with a five year warranty The 1TB runs at the same speed as the 2TB and 4TB drives in the range, which is not true of most budget families, where the smallest capacity is usually the slow one QLC flash with a DRAM-less design, which is the honest tier at this price and quick for everything you'll do day to day. It slows only during very long sustained writes, such as moving hundreds of gigabytes in one go Single sided with a graphene heat-spreading label, so it sits neatly under the board's own M.2 heatsink Two further M.2 slots are free ๐ฎ Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB, Gigabyte Gaming OC Click or tap for deeper spec info RDNA 4 with 64 compute units and 4,096 stream processors, 16GB of GDDR6 on a 256-bit bus at 645GB/s, backed by 64MB of Infinity Cache Genuinely factory overclocked, which not every card at this price is. Gigabyte run it at a 2520MHz game clock and 3060MHz boost against AMD's 2400 and 2970, on a triple-fan WINDFORCE cooler fed by three 8-pin connectors In current multi-game testing the 9070 XT sits level with NVIDIA's RTX 5070 Ti at 1440p and a few percent behind at 4K, in machines that cost a good deal more than this one 16GB of video memory, which is the specification that ages worst because you can't add to it later. Buying a card with enough of it is the single most effective thing you can do for how long a machine stays comfortable Supports FSR 4, AMD's machine-learning upscaler, which needs RDNA 4 hardware and is a real step up from FSR 3. AV1 encode and decode for streaming and recording Being straight about ray tracing: RDNA 4 is a large improvement on what came before, and it's still behind NVIDIA here. Ray traced games run well at 1440p, but if heavy ray tracing is your priority rather than raw frame rate, say so on live chat and we'll point you at an NVIDIA build instead 288mm long in a case that takes cards up to 400mm, with two DisplayPort 2.1a and two HDMI 2.1b outputs. Three years of UK warranty from Gigabyte, extendable to four by registering the card with them ๐งฐ Case: Lian Li Vector V150 INF, Black Click or tap for deeper spec info 470 ร 221.5 ร 443.9mm on the outside, around 46 litres, in steel and 4mm tempered glass The front panel is the reason this machine exists. An infinity mirror built into tempered glass, with precision cut-outs machined through it for the two 140mm intake fans, and removable mesh dust filters sitting behind those openings. The fans carry infinity-mirror hubs of their own, so the effect reads as one piece rather than as a lit panel with two holes in it Being accurate about airflow: this is a glass front with machined, filtered intakes. That's a great deal more open than the solid glass fronts most mirror cases use, and it isn't the same thing as a full mesh face. In this build it doesn't need to be, because the heat is handled by a 360mm radiator in the roof Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX, with 5 expansion slots and support for back-connect boards. Graphics cards up to 400mm and CPU coolers up to 163.5mm Radiator support is 360mm or 240mm in the top and nowhere else, up to 65mm of total thickness. The cooler in this build measures 52mm with its fans on Front I/O is two USB 3.2 Type-A, a USB 3.2 Type-C and a combined audio jack. An adjustable anti-sag bracket for the graphics card is included and fitted ๐ฌ๏ธ Case cooling: 2 ร 140mm ARGB front intake and 1 ร 120mm ARGB rear exhaust, included with the case, plus the cooler's three 120mm fans Click or tap for deeper spec info Six fans in total, all PWM, all ARGB, all on curves set by hand before dispatch and verified through our standard stress testing rather than assumed The airflow path is deliberate. Cool air comes in through the mirrored front directly onto the graphics card, which is the part making most of the heat, and leaves through the radiator in the roof and the exhaust at the back The two front fans carry the infinity-mirror hubs that continue the front panel's effect. They're the reason the front reads as a single lit surface rather than as a panel with fans behind it Everything lights from the motherboard, so the fans, the pump cap and the case front behave as one piece โก Power supply: Corsair RM850e 850W, fully modular Click or tap for deeper spec info Cybenetics Gold efficiency, fully modular, with a 120mm fan that stops entirely at low load Fully modular is doing real work here. In 46 litres with a glass front and a three-connector graphics card, only fitting the cables the build actually uses is the difference between a tidy machine and a stuffed one Seven year warranty from Corsair, which is longer than most units at this level and a fair indication of what they expect from it ๐ Cabling: Black cabling, routed and tied Click or tap for deeper spec info Black cables throughout, routed behind the motherboard tray and tied down, with the excess folded into the shroud where the glass doesn't reach Nothing crosses the front intake path or the graphics card's own fans Braided cable extensions in a colour of your choice are available. See the upgrade options below ๐ถ WiFi / Bluetooth / Ethernet: Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, included Click or tap for deeper spec info Built into the ASRock B850M Pro-A WiFi. No separate adapter needed, and the aerial is supplied in the box Wi-Fi 6E adds the 6GHz band, which is usually far less congested than 2.4 and 5GHz if your router supports it 2.5 Gigabit wired Ethernet, which we'd still recommend over wireless for competitive play. To be plain about what that buys you: the extra bandwidth won't make a game feel different, because wired is about latency and consistency rather than speed. Where it earns its place is moving large files to a NAS or another machine on your network ๐ช Operating system: As chosen by you from the listing options below. Windows 11 Home (OEM) is recommended. ๐งน Setup and optimisation: PC36 High-Class Standard. Full stress test with certificate, bloat-free installation, and BIOS set up properly Click or tap for deeper spec info PC36 High-Class Standard, included free with every build Ready the moment you open the box. Your PC boots straight into Windows with a local account already set up. No account sign-in wall, no first-run questionnaire, no half-hour of setup before you can use the machine you just bought BIOS updated and configured properly: manual fan curves, PBO enabled, memory configured and validated by hand, Secure Boot enabled Vanilla Windows 11 installation if you choose Windows, with no bloatware added by us, and all drivers loaded and ready to go Full stress test with certificate. Every system is torture tested on CPU, RAM and GPU before dispatch, and ships with the certificate to prove it. The same test our most expensive machines get, and on this machine the memory gets a further 24 hours on top PC36 Premier Optimisation, available in the listing options CPU tuning to bring thermals and noise down with minimal performance loss, a deeper strip and debloat of Windows, and the case fans tuned by hand for the quietest operation the machine will hold Worth taking. With six fans and a pump to balance, a hand-built profile does more for how this machine sounds than any component swap at this price would PC36 Ultimate Performance Tune, available in the listing options Advanced overclocking: memory tune, CPU tune and GPU overclock on top of everything in Premier Honest answer on this build: the memory has already been tuned by hand as far as it reliably goes, so there's nothing left to win there. The X3D processor isn't multiplier-unlocked either. The GPU overclock is real and so is a Curve Optimiser undervolt, but Premier is the better value of the two here ๐ก๏ธ Warranty: 3 years parts & labour (return to base) Click or tap for deeper spec info Standard 3-year coverage included, parts and labour both Optional extended warranties in the listing options below ๐๏ธ Transparency notes The memory in this machine is laptop memory on adapters. Here's exactly what that means (click or tap to read more) Two Crucial 16GB DDR5-5600 SODIMM modules sit in passive adapters in the board's normal DDR5 slots. The modules are ordinary Crucial retail parts with Crucial's own warranty. The adapters are simple boards with no active electronics in them, and they are not a branded product with a support line behind them, so we cover them under our own three year warranty rather than pointing you at someone else. Three things it costs you. First, speed: we have tuned these modules from their stock CL46 to CL34 with tightened secondary timings, which closes much of the gap, but 5600 is still a step below the 6000 CL30 we fit as standard. On a processor with 96MB of L3 cache what remains is largely absorbed, which is why we did this on an X3D machine and would not have done it on anything else. Second, it runs on settings we tuned and verified by hand rather than from an EXPO profile, and we have taken it as far as it reliably goes. That tune passed 24 hours of TestMem5 on the Absolut configuration with zero errors. Third, and most worth knowing: adding a second pair later is not realistic, because filling all four slots through adapters drops the achievable speed a long way. Going beyond 32GB later means replacing the pair, or converting the machine to ordinary desktop DIMMs, which is perfectly possible since nothing has been modified. What you get in exchange is this specification at this price. We think that is a good trade at the moment, and we would rather explain it in full than bury it in a spec line. The graphics card makes a faint coil whine at very high frame rates, which is normal behaviour rather than a fault (click or tap to read more) Coil whine is a faint high-pitched sound from the small power components on a graphics card as they work, and most cards produce it to some degree. It doesn't affect performance and isn't a sign of anything wearing out. We noticed it on this card during testing, so we're telling you rather than leaving you to discover it. It's mild and only audible at very high frame rates, the kind you'd see on a menu screen or in a lightweight game running uncapped, and it won't cut through a pair of headphones. If you'd like it quieter still, capping your frame rate to your monitor's refresh rate is usually all it takes, and it's a setting we'd recommend anyway because it brings fan noise and power draw down too. Because this one is already built, the specification is fixed (click or tap to read more) Most of what we sell is built to order from a series we can repeat. This is not that. Unlike our built-to-order machines we can't swap the case or the board for you, because this one is already assembled, configured and tested. Storage and cooling can still be changed. Anything else is worth asking about on live chat before you order rather than after. There's a lot of light in this machine, and all of it can be turned down (click or tap to read more) Six ARGB fans, a lit pump cap and an infinity mirror front, all under motherboard control. Every part of it can be dimmed, set to a single colour or switched off entirely, and none of it affects how the machine performs. Tell us what you'd prefer and we'll set it that way before it ships. The product images shown are real photographs of this exact PC. ๐ ๏ธ Popular upgrade options This machine is already built, which changes what is possible. Storage and cooling can be changed, along with your choice of operating system, the optimisation tiers and an extended warranty. Memory is the exception on this build, for the reason in the transparency notes above. Anything else is a live chat conversation worth having before you order rather than after. Storage upgrade: available in the listing options below. Click or tap for more info Worth it if you keep more than a handful of large games installed at once, since modern installs regularly run past 100GB each. You can also defer it, because two M.2 slots stay free and one of them is PCIe 5.0, so a faster second drive later costs you nothing you've already bought. Memory: talk to us rather than using the dropdown. Click or tap for more info The memory arrangement on this machine is not something to change through a listing option. If you want more than 32GB, or you would rather have conventional desktop DIMMs in it, ask us on live chat and we will quote it properly and tell you honestly what it would do to the price. For gaming at 1440p and 4K, 32GB is not the limit here. Operating system: choose from the listing options below. Click or tap for more info Windows 11 Home is what we recommend for a gaming machine and what almost everyone takes. Pro is worth it only if you need BitLocker, Remote Desktop or domain access. If you'd rather install your own, choose the no-OS option and the machine still arrives with the BIOS configured and tested. PC36 Premier Optimisation: available in the listing options below. Click or tap for more info The tier we'd take on this machine, and the better value of the two. With six fans and a pump to balance, the hand-built curve is where the quiet comes from, and the deeper Windows strip is included. Braided cable extensions: available in the listing options below.
