One collection inspired by the beautiful things we collect, save, remix, and give new life. NINE: VINTAGE ALOHA grew from my longtime love of thrifting, vintage aloha wear and muʻumuʻus and a stack of quilt pieces I discovered cut from vintage fabrics. I've collected vintage clothing, home decor for more than thirty years, but especially drawn to the bold florals, barkcloth textures, unexpected color combinations, and beautifully imperfect patterns of vintage textiles. But there was something about those quilt pieces that stayed with me. A local quilter had taken colorful textiles that had already lived one life and pieced them together into something completely new. It was like she was documenting a library of her collections over the years. I love that idea. Something treasured in one life becoming the raw material for another. That idea runs through so much of my own creative process. I collect, save, remix, layer, photograph, paint, print, and rediscover things years later in completely different forms. VINTAGE ALOHA is a sun-filled, vibrant color story layered with thrifted muʻumuʻu florals, pressed petals, patchwork memories, and tropical nostalgia. Every paint in this box is handcrafted in small batches in my studio as part of the ninth anniversary of #tracibautistaCOLOR. Only 25 Collector's Boxes are available. 🎨 THE VINTAGE ALOHA COLOR STORY Twelve colors make up the VINTAGE ALOHA palette, moving from saturated florals and sun-filled brights to earthy vintage grounds and deep botanical tones. Mu'umu'u Pink ~ A bold floral pink inspired by the vibrant prints found in vintage aloha wear. Rose Fuchsia ~ Saturated, juicy pink with a slightly nostalgic floral feel. Tangerine Barkcloth ~ A warm, saturated orange inspired by richly printed vintage barkcloth textiles. Marigold ~ Golden yellow filled with sun-soaked warmth. Vintage Chartreuse ~ That unmistakable retro yellow-green that lives somewhere between leaf, olive, and chartreuse. Avocado Ground ~ An earthy, grounded green pulled from a classic mid-century palette. Lagoon Turquoise ~ A bright tropical turquoise that brings a splash of clear-water color to the palette. Poppy Cerulean ~ A deeper blue that adds contrast, richness, and another layer of saturated color. Jadeite ~ A soft mineral green inspired by collected vintage glass, ceramics, and colorful treasures. Thrift Brown ~ A warm, worn-in brown that grounds all of the brighter colors. Faded Aubergine ~ A dusky purple with a softened vintage edge. Crepe Cream ~ A warm, quiet neutral made for layering, mixing, and giving the brighter colors room to breathe. Together, they create a palette inspired by vintage textiles, thrifted treasures, pressed botanicals, collected artwork, and the beautifully imperfect visual fragments that find their way into my studio. It is a color story built the same way I build so much of my artwork: collecting pieces that catch my eye, layering them together, and allowing something completely new to emerge.
