Resin Height: 37.80″ (96 cm) Unique ABOUT THE ARTWORK Myles Igwebuike’s multidisciplinary practice encompasses sculpture, textile, painting and print and is rooted in ideas of material intelligence, spiritual continuity and collective memory. Rather than treating materials as passive media, Igwebuike approaches them as active participants in the making process—materials that can resist, teach and ultimately influence the form a work takes. Central to this approach is what Igwebuike describes as a “right to opacity”: a resistance to the idea that an artwork must surrender itself to one fixed or immediately legible interpretation. His works instead embrace ambiguity and complexity, allowing material, form and inherited cultural knowledge to coexist without being reduced to a single meaning.
