Art Print – “Mahalakshmi”: Goddess Lakshmi Upon the Pink Lotus

Provenance Mahalakshmi presents Goddess Lakshmi standing at the heart of a vast pink lotus, set within a deep navy field and cream border inscribed in Devanagari. Her name, 'Lakshmi', appears at the top, and beneath the image runs the mantra 'Shreem Mahalakshmyai Namah'. Lakshmi holds a pink lotus in each of her upper hands and raises one hand in blessing, while gold coins pour from a small vessel in the other – her traditional image as the bestower of prosperity. She wears a red sari with a green and gold border, layered pearl and jewelled necklaces and a golden crown, framed by a glowing halo. The soft rose petals of the lotus, finely veined and layered in concentric tiers, glow against the navy ground, while red, emerald and gold enrich the figure. The symmetry and calm frontal pose give the print a serene, auspicious presence, particularly suited to Diwali and the festive season.
