Iniquity Den's Dram – PX / Choc Malt

Matured exclusively in a genuine PX cask but with a touch of Chocolate Malt in the mash bill. Tasting Notes Nose Coffee, chocolate, raisins and cherries all arrive at once, apparently under the impression this is a dessert buffet. Sticky date pudding follows, because subtle entrances are clearly not on the menu. Palate Smooth, full and even, with warmth that has the good manners to knock rather than kick the door in. Cherries, mandarin and raisins settle into a creamy, buttery mouthfeel. The fruit has found the comfy chair and has no intention of moving. Finish Lingering and tenacious without being ferocious. It’s the long goodbye of a great mate who’s already put their coat on but remembered three more stories. Provenance European Oak, 30 YO ex-Pedro Ximinex cask. 4 Year Old 44% ABV 4 years in a first fill barrel that previously held PX Sherry for 30 years. A four-year stay in a barrel with a thirty-year résumé. Comment A whisky you can get lost in for hours.
