Pig's Nose, Blended Scotch Whisky (40%, 70cl)

Pig's Nose Blended Scotch Whisky is a classic blended Scotch whisky created by third generation master blender Richard Paterson for Spencerfield Spirit Company. Named after the traditional Scottish folk phrase "as soft and smooth as a pig's nose," this expression is crafted with a high proportion of malt whiskies to yield an exceptionally approachable profile. The blend consists of 40% single malt whiskies, primarily sourced from Speyside, Islay, and the Lowlands, combined with premium grain whiskies produced from wheat and barley. These constituent whiskies undergo maturation in first fill ex bourbon oak casks for five to eight years before master blending and marriage. Brought to a bottling strength of 40% ABV with pure Scottish water, the high malt ratio and first fill cask maturation lend the final blend its characteristic roundness, silky mouthfeel, and gentle oak complexity. The profile is soft, creamy, and sweet with balanced orchard fruit, grain, and gentle oak spice. The nose opens with aromas of fresh green apples, soft caramel, vanilla pod, and roasted grain, accompanied by subtle hints of white pepper and sweet butter. On the palate, the mouthfeel is smooth and velvety, delivering flavors of creamy malt, citrus peel, wildflower honey, and toasted oak. The finish is short, clean, and refreshing, leaving lingering traces of sweet cereal, vanilla cream, and soft wood spice.
