Minelab V10 10x7" Double-D Coil for Vanquish 340, 440 and 540 (3011-0409)

The V10 is the coil that made the original Vanquish the beginner's detector that still finds things: it shipped on the 340 and the 440, so most Vanquish owners learned the machine with this exact coil under it. The Minelab V10 10x7 in Double-D coil (part 3011-0409) is the genuine spare or replacement for those machines, and for 540 owners it is the lighter, more selective all-rounder next to the stock V12. Cross-reference: Vanquish 540 Pro-Pack. At a glance Genuine Minelab V10 waterproof DD coil, part 3011-0409, UPC 811493017242. 10 x 7 in (25 x 18 cm) elliptical Double-D, skidplate fitted. Fits the original Vanquish 340, 440 and 540 (including the 540 Pro-Pack) only. Does not fit the Vanquish 360, 460 or 560, the X-Terra Pro or Elite, or any Equinox; those take the V10X (3011-0458). Official OEM part sold by History Seekers, an authorized Minelab dealer. Which Vanquish coil do I need: V10 or V10X? Answered outright, because the two names are one letter apart and the parts are not interchangeable. The original Vanquish 40 series (340, 440, 540) uses the V8, V10 and V12. The Vanquish 60 series (360, 460, 560), the X-Terra Pro and the X-Terra Elite use the V8X, V10X and V12X. If your control box reads 340, 440 or 540, this V10 is the right part. If it reads 360, 460, 560 or X-Terra, order the V10X instead. Minelab's 460/560 manual lists the supported coils as V8X, V10X, V12X and the EQX series only. Why the V10 on an original Vanquish The 10 x 7 in (25 x 18 cm) footprint is the balance point of the 40-series line. It separates targets better than the V12 in parks and old house sites where iron and foil crowd the good signals, it swings lighter all day, and it still reaches respectable depth on coins and jewelry. The only US dealer that bothers to say so calls it the coil for the original Vanquish range, and the Canadian page that ranks for this part gets one thing exactly right: it is a spare or replacement coil for the 340 and 440, and an add-on for the 540 that completes a two-coil set. The coil is waterproof to 3.3 ft (1 m); the Vanquish control box is rain resistant only, so wade with the coil and keep the box dry. If your 340 or 440 is down with a damaged cable, this puts the factory coil back on it. No. The 60 series takes the V8X, V10X, V12X and the Equinox EQX coils. Order the V10X, part 3011-0458, for those machines. Is this the coil my Vanquish 340 or 440 came with? Yes. The V10 10x7 in Double-D is the supplied coil on both the 340 and the 440, so this is a factory like-for-like replacement. Should a 540 owner buy the V10? If you hunt trashy parks or want a lighter coil for long days, yes. The 540 ships with the V12; the V10 gives it a tighter, more selective second coil. How deep can the coil go in water? The coil is waterproof to 3.3 ft (1 m). The control box is not submersible. Is a skidplate included? Yes, fitted from the factory. A spare V10 skidplate is part 3011-0412.
