Emerging during World War II as a replacement for the A-1 jacket, the A-2 has become an iconic symbol rivaling the motorcycle jacket. As the war ended and pilots returned home, they wore their flight jackets as symbols of honor, catching the eyes of figures like Steve McQueen and Frank Sinatra. Once it was popularized in films, this style became synonymous with masculine cool. Our version of the A-2 adds our own twist on the classic details. The Propeller features exclusive custom vintage-style large zippers made by Universal. We removed the classic knitted wristlets and waistband to give the jacket a sharper, longer line and modern feel. Cat-eye buttons on the pockets and wrists are secured with our distinctive Kato Orange thread. This interpretation of a classic A2 is built from a heavyweight beach cloth that’s increasingly rare. This dense and richly textured fabric comes from one of the only mills in Japan capable of producing it at this level. The cotton-wool blend offers a balance of comfort and warmth in colder months, while the A2 silhouette grounds it in timeless aviation style. A commanding yet refined presence. This season draws inspiration from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood—a snapshot of late-’60s Los Angeles. Long afternoons in the sun-bleached streets shape the laid-back swagger that defines this era. We leaned into relaxed silhouettes, lived-in textures, and familiar workwear shapes that feel broken-in from day one. The result is a collection that moves at its own pace—easy, grounded, and confident without ever asking for attention. 56% Cotton / 39% Wool / 5% Nylon
