The Parker 75 Jasper Red Quartz was introduced by the Parker French subsidiary in 1979 as part of the prestigious 'Laque Collection'. It was inspired by the eastern lacquer painting technique of applying layer upon layer to build up a deep finish. This pen is the one of the first Laque collection designs, it was made in the third quarter of 1980. The 'Red Jasper Quartz' finish was made for less than two years and is much sought after. It is much brighter and more vibrant than the 'Thuya', 'Tortoise shell', and 'Woodgrain' colours. It is shown in the last photograph alongside a 'Thuya' pen. In superb condition, the pen shows no signs of use and carries the original laque collection tag. It is fitted with the Parker metal ink converter and a new cartridge is provided so the pen is ready to write in either configuration. The 14Ct. Gold nib has a fine point. As is often the case with new old stock pens, this example came to me unboxed, pens were usually only matched with a box at the point of sale. I have provided a new box which will serve very well for transportation, protection, and display. All Parker 75s are brilliant pens but the Laque Jasper Red Quartz version is quite spectacular and highly collectable. The quandary here is what takes priority, writing or displaying, I think such a gorgeous pen could be both used AND shown off!
