Mercer Armless Chair
One seat, for a run that is one seat short. Built to order in America, the Mercer Armless Chair by Stanley Furniture is the narrowest seat in the collection, 23 inches with no arms, open on both ends. When a layout is one seat short of the wall, this is the piece that fills it: one between a corner and a chaise, or several in a row with a corner at each end for a long, low U. Craftsman-built frame of kiln-dried hardwood, primarily solid alder, corner-blocked and reinforced with glue, staples and screws, so the curve stays true. Arched 8.5-gauge sinuous springs with double tie-wires deliver quiet, no-sag support in every seat. Seat and back cushions wrap a high-density foam core in a feather-locked envelope of Trillium gel-blown fiber: the softness of down, hypoallergenic and feather-free, so they soften in without going flat. Open on both ends, so there is no arm side to choose. Joins with any Mercer one-arm piece, corner or wedge. See the Armless King Chair for a 33-inch seat. Want to see a fabric in your own light?
