This collection captures the essence of Zeshin's artistry, showcasing his exquisite work in a charming and collectible format. Shibata Zeshin (1807-1891), a famous and revolutionary Japanese painter and lacquerer of the late Edo period and early Meiji era who worked with Haibara Naojiro, the third president of HAIBARA, in various opportunities. The series "Hana Kurabe" ("Comparison of Flowers") initially made for HAIBARA has been a long-time seller of HAIBARA and Zeshin had often presented his designs for this long established washi dealer of Nihombashi, Tokyo who has over 200 years of history.
