The newest addition to our popular ceramic lighting collection reimagines the silhouette of our classic Terra Surface design with a larger scale, luminous gloss glaze, and subtle linear detailing. Our Morgan ceramic shades and fixtures are handcrafted in the Pacific Northwest and are offered in two beautiful glazes: warm Gloss White and lovely Gloss Dusty Rose. Our slip-cast ceramic lights are handmade and have variations and imperfections inherent to the artisan craft process. Namesake: Julia Morgan (1872-1957) was an American architect and engineer who designed more than 700 buildings in California, including the famous Hearst Castle. She was the first woman to earn a degree in civil engineering at Berkley, the first woman be admitted to the architecture program at l’École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, the first female architect licensed in California, and the first woman to receive AIA’s highest award, the AIA Gold Medal, posthumously in 2014.
