Grape Variety: 35% Sauvignon Blanc, 35% Sauvignon Rose, 20% Chardonnay, 10% Menu Pineau Producer: Hervé Villemade Region: Cheverny, Touraine, Loire, France Wild Scale: 2/5 Vegan friendly wine 12.5% alcohol Winemaking: Organic grapes from young vines were harvested by hand. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. 55% aged in amphora whilst the rest was in in concrete. No fining or filtration and just a small amount of sulphur added at bottling. This Wine: Natural white with with a medium body. A relatively new cuvée from Hervé now in its 4th vintage that utilises local grape varieties from a single plot in Cheverny. Balanced and precise with retrained floral elements alongside bright citrus fruit pure minerals. Best served with food. Notes on the Winemaker: Hervé Villemade has been making natural wine in the Loire valley since the late 1990s after being inspired by the Beaujolais legend Marcel Lapierre. He is situated close to Thierry Puzelat / Clos du Tue-Boeuf and just like his neighbour, produces stunning wines from local grape varieties at very reasonable prices.
