Potter's Wheel for Beginners - Weekend Batch

This is the very first level of our Potter’s Wheel foundation course. This course is suitable for complete beginners to wheel throwing. This course includes: Clay prep, throwing, trimming and finishing basics, intro to surface decoration techniques. Bisque firing is included in this course which is the first round of firing. Students get to take home their work, approximately 8-10 pieces/wares. Glaze Application workshop is not a part of this course and is conducted separately. Intermediate and Advanced Courses Experienced students who have already completed their foundational training in potter's wheel can inquire with us directly for advanced courses. Our batches are usually a mix of beginner and experienced students. Dates: Saturday, 6 June to Sunday, 12 July 2026 *Holiday on 4-5 July Weekend Frequency: Saturday and Sunday Timings: 10 AM to 1 PM Location: #1181, 3rd Floor (no elevator), 12th B Main, HAL 2nd Stage, Indiranagar. Bangalore 560008 Fee: Rs. 18,900 Class strength: 5 students per batch Goals Being able to pull 10-12 cm height cylinder with a 500 g clay Being able to prep 2 kg of clay Doing Basic form modification - flat bottomed bowls, mugs, tumblers... Learning to trim and finish pots Attaching Basic Slab-built Handles Introduction to decorating pot surfaces in leather hard stage Becoming independent in a pottery studio - that is, being able to use clay, tools and equipment responsibly and cleaning up after Production goals: 2 tumblers, two mugs and two bowls. Inclusions 10 guided sessions with dedicated attention to instruct you through the course syllabus and working individually with students to solve any issues Basic pottery kit One Potter’s apron Unlimited studio time (unguided) Bisque firing of upto 15 medium sized (under 6 inches) pieces Exclusions Shipping or packing of pieces Storage of pieces at the studio for a duration of more than 10 days after bisque firing is completed Terms Missing Class: You can miss upto two classes during the course. Make up sessions for a maximum of 2 classes will be provided on weekdays only post discussion. You can pick 10 AM to 1 PM slot OR 2 to 5 PM slot. After the last day of class, there will be no make up sessions provided. There are no exceptions to this rule, including accidents, hospitalisation, travel, family emergencies. If you're unable to makeup on the decided dates, there will be no compensatory class or refund provided after the last date of the course under any circumstances. Refund: Complete refund will be provided if you request to cancel your seat before 12 PM, 10 days prior to course commencement date. After this date, refund will be provided only if your blocked seat gets occupied by a student on the waitlist or from your end. We will reach out to our database from our end to the best of our ability and try to fill the seat in your stead. However, if a replacement is not found before course begins, no refunds will be provided. There are no exceptions to this rule. Transferability: The seat can be transferred to a friend or family member only before the course begins. Postponement: The seat cannot be deferred to a later batch under any circumstances at any point of the course before or after commencement. There are no exceptions to this rule.
