Original Cyanotype on Paper 15 x 22"

A double exposure of two Palmetto fan leaves fills the entire composition, one radiating from the upper portion and one sweeping up from the lower half, their sharp pointed fronds crossing and layering to create a bold explosive energy. Sweeping arc-shaped brushstrokes in warm olive gold flow across the middle, adding a beautiful contrast against the cool blues. The tones are a rich, vibrant blend of deep midnight navy and vivid cobalt blue throughout, making this one of the most boldly coloured pieces in the collection. Created using the cyanotype process, two chemicals are hand mixed and applied to watercolor paper, real botanicals are placed on top and exposed to natural sunlight, then washed by hand to reveal the image. Each piece is completely one-of-a-kind original artwork.
