Burfoot Freestone

This dahlia originated right here at Burfoot Flowers, and you’ll only find it here for it’s 2026 release! This dahlia holds a truly special place in our hearts, and it has been a long road to get to this special moment! Burfoot Freestone was the first ever seedling that bloomed in our garden— can you believe it?! This beauty is all peach, all day. Packed centers unfold row after row of delicately lined, waved petals in all shades of peach. Freestone blooms big and bodacious, 5-6” across with petals flowing all the way back to the stem. In fact Freestone blooms in such profusion that a patch in full bloom creates a canopy of flowers. It is a sight to behold, and always a highlight of my dahlia season year after year. Amazingly, Freestone’s abundance also translates beautifully to cut flower production. Each stem produces 4-6 fully formed 12”+ stems like a candelabra. The plant is easy growing to 3.5-4’, and slightly taller in shadier conditions. Hot conditions seem to bring out more yellow-peach coloring, and stronger picottee. This dahlia has been grown in different climates, and performed well in all. It has not been tested in extreme high heat conditions. This listing is for one dahlia tuber.
