This style of rondel dagger could not be more Burgundian and is dated to the second half of the 15thC. The original is housed in the Bargello Museum in Florence. The grip is very closely based on the museum example and is constructed from an ebony grip with through holes over a gilded brass tube and with buffalo horn rondels top and bottom. All the rest of the metal grip fittings are gilded brass. The museum original has a very normal single edged rondel blade but this piece comes with a assymetrically reinforced single edged blade creating a stunning look. The blade for was taken from another Burgundian rondel. The dagger comes with a leather covered wooden sheath, again with gilded brass fittings. Blade length 27cm/10.5” Grip length 92mm/3.5” Overall length 42cm/16.5″ This is the only one and it is ready to ship.
