Our explorations in brocade started in early 2014. Since then, we have focused on bringing a contemporary language to a textile that is centuries old. Developed over a period of several months, this technique requires a distinctly complex process of graphing, carding and punching even before the loom is set up. The challenge has been to maintain the integrity of the design across several styles. The motifs on this maxi have been carefully designed to give it an illusion of embroidery but with the quiet luxury of a handwoven textile.
